Yesterday I went to Beach Crafter's, which is the store that is going to carry my jewelry in Long Beach, CA. I thought it would be a good idea to go and look and see what it was like and what I would need to set up my display. It was neat, there were some really talented artists. Everything from bags made from men's ties, hand dyed scarves and handmade pottery to quilts and different jewelry. The owner told me about first Fridays, which is a street fair that happens the first Friday of every month right on the street outside the store. She said they get a lot of traffic. After checking it out I decided I am going to rent a 4 x 4 spot which will cost $80/mo. I had to go get a table of some kind, so yesterday I went around to a bunch of thrift stores and finally found the perfect table at a local Goodwill. It is a drop leaf table, so the ends fold over and then this particular table has three leafs in the center...it means this table can adjust from 2 ft. to 7 ft.depending on what pieces you use. It also is real wood and can be refinished. It was an awesome score!! It is a perfect table for just about every situation, the best part is it was only $39.99! I have decided that I am going to set up my table similar to what I had the set up look like for the boutique. Here are the pictures from the boutique table that I set up (http://tarakins42.livejournal.com/148871.html) Do you all have any suggestions of things I should change or make look different or do you think it looks good the way it was?!

Pictures and my weekend... )
Two years ago today my baby boy Peeps was born. He was so tiny and scared. See when we first moved out to CA we were staying in this hell hole in the desert, literally had a crack house across the street and gun shots nightly. Well the people we were staying with had this feral cat that had litter after litter of kittens before we got there. While we were there she ended up having another litter and somehow her and the babies were brought into the house. Obviously she wouldn't let anyone near her. She had 5 beautiful kittens, one we called "spitfire" cause he was mean like his momma and hissed all the time. The other three just kind of stuck together and hid under the recliner, minus Peeps. He didn't want anything to do with his brother's and sisters and in all fairness was what I believe to be the runt.He completely isolated himself. I nurtured him, and loved him. I became his momma. Literally and figuratively. He developed a certain call for me that he still uses to this day, comes when I call him and has been the biggest love bug on earth. I spent hours and hours just holding him and cuddling, petting him, playing with him and such. I can honestly say that he is the sweetest cat I have ever met. He is his momma's baby! Now as he gets older just as a child would, he is pulling away. Not wanting to be held as much or bothered. He has become more independent. He loves me and I LOVE him more than anything in this world! I truly believe he changed my life. Had it not been for him I am not sure that I would have been able to deal with what I was facing at that time with my relationship and just my continuous struggle to be "me." I absolutley adore Peeps and just wanted to share how much today means to me. I shared this with him earlier lol, when I held him, sang happy birthday to him and told him how much he means to me!!
The date stamp on the camera was wrong at the time, but this is my baby throughout the last two years!! My favorite is his very first picture next to the 64 oz. jug..he was so tiny!
